By walking with us, you will have the best option to enjoy a free tour around the historic center of Lima, during our walking tours, you will see very relevant tour attractions such as churches, palaces, balconies, colonial streets and much more. Walking with our local Guides will be a unique experience, focused on the history and culture behind each iconic site.

Itinerary

The route below can always change because of strikes, weather issues, festivities, and even the tour guide’s choice.

• Free Tour Lima at 10am leaving from Miraflores
  • First of all, we don’t tour in Miraflores — we only pick up tourists in this district so that we help them to get Lima historic center
  • To join this schedule, you must be very close to Kennedy Park in Miraflores
  • Join us at 10am sharp at Pasaje Porta 132, outside the Oechsle mall, look for the Inkan Milky Way logo
  • Next, we will make our way to the Benavides bus station (Metropolitano bus) — you must bring 2.50 soles pp or 5 soles per couple for the bus ticket
  • We will take Line C, inside the Metropolitano bus station, heading north to Lima historic center
  • After almost 30 minutes of bus ride, we will get off at the bus station of Jirón de la Unión
  • Next, we will walk from the bus station to our Tour Starting Point for the free tour: La Merced Church in Lima historic center
  • We will split up the group at la Merced church according to the language: English and Spanish, and then visit the entire historic center
  • To see the entire detailed itinerary of the places we will visit, check the Free Tour Lima at 11am below (remember that the places to visit are the same, what is different is the time and meeting place)
• Free Tour Lima at 11am starting in Lima historic center
  • If you don’t want to take a local bus ride or you are not near Kennedy Park in Miraflores, please follow the instructions below:
  • Join us at 11am sharp in front of La Merced Church on the Jirón de la Union street in the historical center of Lima; Look for the InkanMilkyWay Logo embroidered on bright Yellow Vests. Don’t get confused — we wait until 11:10am at the latest. Take a taxi beforehand, don’t underestimate the car traffic in Lima

  • We will split up the group at la Merced church according to the language: English and Spanish, and then visit the entire historic center
  • We will explore the Jiron de la Union street: the most famous colonial and republican street in Lima
  • Eugene Courret’s photographic studio: the first photographic studio in Peru — exterior visit
  • We will see all the attractions in the Plaza de Armas from the outside:
    • The Presidential Palace
    • Cathedral
    • City Hall palace
    • The water fountain
    • The Changing of the Guard in Lima — optional
  • Santo Domingo Church — visit inside the main nave
  • Rimac district and the smallest Church in the world
  • At Rimac river, your guide will give you a socio-economic introduction to the current city of Lima
  • Old train station or the House of Peruvian Literature — interior visit
  • Atrium of the Church of San Francisco
  • At the tour ending place, we will recommend a nice Peruvian restaurant – we love history
  • The tour ends near the Main Square of Lima center; however, anyone trying to get back to Miraflores or Barranco will be helped by the tour guide, you have our word for it
• Free Tour Lima in the Afternoon at 3pm – Starting in the Lima historic center
  • Come to La Merced Church from wherever you are throughout Lima, be there at 3 pm — we wait until 3:10 pm at the latest; we don’t collect or pick up anyone in Miraflores. Take a taxi beforehand, don’t underestimate the car traffic in Lima
  • Look for the InkanMilkyWay logo embroidered on the bright Yellow Vests, don’t get confused
  • We will explore the Jiron de la Union street
  • Eugene Courret’s photographic studio — exterior visit
  • We will see all the attractions in the Plaza de Armas from the outside:

Useful information:

If you are staying in Miraflores, don’t worry, we have a pick-up point for all customers staying in Miraflores, just come to the designated pick-up point, we will take public transportation towards Lima historic center, thus you will save almost 50 Soles in taxi fare (almost 20 USD). However, if you are not close to our meeting point in Miraflores, come directly in front of La Merced Church in the historic center of Lima (the walking tour will begin here).

Meeting Points

• • 10am Meeting Place — Pick-up in Miraflores: Meet us in Pasaje Porta 132 outside Oechsle mall, you can only join us here, if you are extremely close to Pasaje Porta 132 or Kennedy park. Please bring 2.50 Soles pp for a local bus ticket (we will take the Metropolitano local bus system towards the historic center of Lima). If you are not close to this spot or you don’t like using the local bus system, please get directly to the 11am or 3pm meeting place
  • 11am Meeting Place in Lima historic center: Join us in front of La Merced Church on the Jirón de La Union Street — this is the place, where the free tour starts
  • 3pm Meeting Place in Lima historic center: For our Lima free walking tour in the afternoon, you must also come to La Merced Church from all over Lima (we don’t pick up anyone from Miraflores)

  • If you stay in Barranco, Callao port, Lima Airport or you don’t know which district you are in; then come directly to La Merced Church at 11 am or 3 pm

    This is why most walkers on FREE TOUR PERU  generally give between 20 to 50 S/. per person, but as we said, you can choose to give more or less depending on your experience.
